Trip to Volcano Pacaya

We set off on Saturday for a trip to Volcan Pacaya one of the many active volcanos here in Guatemala. It was an amazing trip...my first time experiencing lava up close! Once we got to the top we were surrounded by lava fields...so hot that we cooked marshmallows over them! Thank you Jenny for brining them along! My friend Froilán Mazariegos led the way through a small town and then up the trails to the cone. On the way down we encountered an elderly woman warming some children by a fire in the woods, beside the trail. We ended up chatting with her and then gave her a gift in order to help the children. Here is a video of our trip:

Brian , Mary and Kiddoes :
You were on our hearts and in our prayers on Easter Sunday . I had just finished Easter dinner when I heard voices and a loud boom and immediately went out on the porch to see one of our worst fears ....our beloved ABCCC being consumed by fire. It appeared to start just a few doors up from Cozy Corner . In literally minutes the whole hill was a conflagration . Flames fanned by exploding propane tanks and strong northwest winds from the Lake Winnipesaukee, I felt sure that the whole conference center would be taken. In fact, it appeared that the fire would spread across to the homes and woodlands on our side and I proceeded to gather up the irreplaceable little things like photos of the kids etc.. We then headed up onto Summit Ave. ( the rd. where the prayer altar is ) to be away from immediate danger but still able to see the events unfold. At this time we knew all we could do was pray for the fire to be contained and the Lord to protect the fire fighters and others from physical harm . I knew at that moment we were united in prayer with people all over the world as word was spread quickly in this world of instant communication . To some who are not believers , this may seem like wishful thinking, but you folks know I speak the truth when I tell you I literally saw that the Lord heard our prayers as the flames seemed to miraculously diminish .
Our Lord Jehovah is Great and He will be our comfort and strength through this ordeal . Already this tragedy has been used by the Lord to make the world aware of the mission and good works of the Alton Bay Christian Conference Center and how we his children draw our strength from our relationship and Love from Him our Comforter and Savior for eternity.
I was so pleased to hear from you
and learn of your progress along your path . When I called Chloe when the fire was at its height and asked her and Sumner to pray for God's protection, the foremost people on her heart and in her prayers were Abbey and the Dennett family . I will forward this e-mail to her right now as I am sure they will love hearing from you. Her e-mail is Chloe 1230@Yahoo.com., she would love to hear from Abbey and the other kids .I loved your video and will keep you in our prayers . Please keep us posted,we look forward to seeing you in June .
May you stand in the center of the Lord's Love and Light and Let Nothing harm you there .
In Christ'S Love,
George, Chloe & Sumner Ford
